Where should we fly into?
Houston offers two airports: Houston Hobby (HOU) and George Bush International (IAH). Houston Hobby is a bit closer to the coast but either airport is fine.
Where should I stay?
There is an abundance of AirBNB’s and hotels in the greater Galveston area. Discuss where you’ll be fishing prior to booking, depending on the time of year / conditions, it can vary.
The Fishing
What time will we meet in the morning?
Depending on the time of the year, we’ll meet anywhere from 6:30 to 8:00 AM. Typically, we’ll meet as the sun is coming up, load the boat sign waivers, and then head out for the day.
How many people can you take on your boat?
We can accommodate 2 anglers and the captain.
Do you provide lunch / snacks / drinks?
We DO NOT provide lunch so please bring your own food and drinks that you’d like to have. We provide water and will have ice in our cooler to keep what you bring cold. Please, be respectful and try not to bring foods that are overly messy.
Will we catch fish?
Fish can never be guaranteed. There are days we go out and don’t catch fish; the ocean is a big place and there are no fences keeping fish from leaving an area. However, rest assured that we spend as much time on the water as we possibly can to ensure that we are dialed in on where the fish currently are. We spend our mornings and nights checking all the information we can get our hands on and spend days game planning for each trip. Nobody wants to see you catch fish more than the captain!
Can we keep our fish?
We practice catch and release to ensure that our fishery thrives for years to come.
How far will I need to be able to cast?
The redfish game is much more about accuracy than distance. A lot of the time we’re ‘close combat’ fishing, needing only a 20-30′ cast. However, you’ll need to make that cast within’ a foot or two of that fish. Sometimes you’ll only get one shot at it, so you’ll need to make it count. We highly recommend that you do some practice casting before your trip.
I want to buy some flies / gear before the trip. What do you recommend?

I heard that Galveston has dirty water. Is that true?
Yes and no. The water can certainly be a bit stained due to our proximity to the Mississippi River and a Southeast prevailing wind. However, in the marsh, where we fish, there is often much better clarity.
That “dirty” water is actually just caused from sediment being moved around by wind and tide. This actually works into our advantage as our fish our typically less spooky than their counterparts who live in clearer waters.
Do you only guide fly fishing?
Fly fishing makes up the majority of our customers but we also guide light tackle anglers. The program is very similar to our fly fishing sight casting program just with a spinning rod. We provide rods and lures for the light tackle anglers.
Weather
What can we expect from the weather?
It is the coast, so isolated little rain storms can pop up from time to time. Later in the summer, the weather begins to stabilize and becomes a bit more predictable. Late summer you can still expect hot days and some wind. As we creep into the fall, temps will start to cool but will often still be in the 80’s. Late October into November we can start to see morning temperatures have a little coolness to them and the days aren’t getting as warm.
Do you fish in the rain?
As long as weather conditions are safe, we will fish in the rain. The fish don’t mind, as they are already wet. As long as it’s just rain, we’ll continue to fish.
What if bad weather makes us end our day early?
Depending on how long we got to spend on the water, we’ll credit you towards another trip in the future. If weather keeps us from starting the trip at all, you’ll have the choice of a partial refund (depending on how long we were able to fish for) or credit towards a future trip.
What if bad weather cancels our trip?
If we have to cancel due to weather, a full refund will be in order, or you can roll your payment over to a future date.

What types of payment do you accept?
We accept just about anything from Venmo, Zelle, or cash. We can also take bookings directly on our site. Click here for more booking information.
How much should we tip?
20% is standard. Our guides work extremely hard to provide the best experience they can, often fighting conditions that are less than ideal. Tips can be made via cash (prefered), Venmo, Zelle, etc.
