What You’ll Learn
We offer on the water instruction as well as classroom like settings, where there’s no pressure of fishing and you can just focus on the basics.
For the beginner angler, we cover all the major components of fly fishing. From gear selection to targeting fish, we’ll help you get started on the right foot. A day of casting / rigging instruction would cover topics such as these:
- Rod Selection
- Fly Line, Leader Explanation
- Pick Up Lay Down Cast, Roll Cast
- Fly Selection
- Setting Up a Nymph Rig, Dry Fly Rig, and Dry Dropper
For the more experienced angler, we can focus more on the details of fly fishing. A day for the intermediate to advanced would cover the following topics:
- Reading Water
- Understanding Fish Behavior
- River Entomology
- Double Hauling
Of course, these are all just examples of what we could cover. We tailor all these courses to your specific needs and goals. On water instruction is available and allows for immediately applicable practice. Non-water instruction is also available, and instruction will be focused on rigging, casting, and all other applications where being on the water may not be necessary.
